Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with “I Have a Dream” recitation
On Thursday, Jan. 12, join the Black Staff and Faculty Organization (BSFO) in honoring the legacy and birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
BSFO members will take turns reciting the iconic “I Have A Dream” speech, raising their voices in community to spread Dr. King’s message of love, justice and unity that is still relevant to this day.
As UC President Michael V. Drake, M.D., shared last year on the anniversary of the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, “We must recommit ourselves to doing everything we can to reinforce and promote our nation’s democratic values, and live up to our highest ideals of truth-seeking, inclusion, and respect.”

I love this event — it still sends chills up my spine every time I hear the words of this speech. Thanks BSFO for doing this.
