In 1991 her hard work paid off when Proper Fashions opened its doors at two storefront locations in Sacramento. Today, she provides quality and unique fashions for women to enjoy at home, at work and out on the town with styles that are exciting, classy, sassy and chic.
- Urban ethnographer Waverly Duck, Ph.D., is the North Hall Chair Endowed professor of sociology and associate director of the Center for Black Studies Research at UC Santa Barbara. He is the author of several books including “No Way Out: Precarious Living in the Shadow of Poverty and Drug Dealing.” In addition to investigating the challenges faced by socially marginalized groups, his current research focuses on the interaction order of marginalized communities, including how participants identify problems and what they perceive as viable solutions.
