UC Office of the President employees should be aware that several minor thefts have been reported in the Franklin Building over the past few weeks. Theft reports are relatively rare, said building manager Roman Starno, and his office investigates each one. Nevertheless, employees should be mindful that thefts do occasionally occur.

The UC Office of the President has launched a new website that highlights the depth, breadth and value of UC research.
The LGBTI Staff Association invites the UCOP community to mingle with President Yudof and other guests at an ice cream social June 2 in the Franklin rooftop garden.
WorkFit returns to OP Monday, May 23, with sessions at both the Franklin and Kaiser Building locations. Classes run from May 23 through August 26, and the summer session features a free introductory trial for the first week.

Laurel Mellin, author of Wired for Joy and UCSF professor of family and community medicine, appears at UCOP for a brown bag lunch on Emotional Brain Training, Tuesday, May 17, 12 to 1 pm in 5320 Franklin.
On Wednesday, May 18, celebrate UC Walks Day by joining your UCOP colleagues for a lunchtime stroll along Lake Merritt. HR Executive Director John Fox will serve as walk leader, and participants are entitled to a free T-shirt.
On Saturday, May 21, IR&C will upgrade several UCOP-hosted applications and services, resulting in an outage from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Affected sites include At Your Service, Connexxus Travel Services and the UC Retirement System.

The OP Staff Assembly Steering Committee is seeking nominations for four open seats. Interested candidates are invited to attend brown bag lunches on Monday, May 9, 12 to 1 p.m., in 10325 Franklin, or Tuesday, May 10, 12 to 1 p.m., in 712 Kaiser.
