Dr. Preston Maring returns with more seasonal cooking

Preston Maring, M.D., will hold another of his healthy cooking classes this month, emphasizing seasonal recipes and ingredients.

A physician and surgeon in obstetrics and gynecology at Kaiser Permanente, Maring is also founder of the Kaiser Permanente Farmer’s Market program and an advocate of healthy eating and cooking. Dr. Maring will present a winter recipe at two sessions, from 12 to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, in 10325 Franklin, and Wednesday, Dec. 12, in 712 Kaiser.

Maring provides hands-on demonstrations in which volunteers from the audience participate. Space is limited, and classes fill up quickly, so be sure to arrive early for a seat.

For a taste of Maring’s approach, check out his website and blog, where he shares recipes and cooking tips, and his YouTube videos offering a wide range of recipes and tips for shopping and planning a healthy diet.

The events are sponsored by Wellness at UCOP.
