Act now! Nominations for OP Innovation Awards close Dec. 5

If you’re thinking of nominating one of your UCOP colleagues for an Office of the President Innovation and Impact Award, act now!

Nominations for the award, inaugurated last year to recognize employees and/or teams of employees for exemplary service above and beyond their normal job duties, close at 5 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Any OP employee can submit a nomination for any level of staff (except the Senior Management Group). Nominations are invited for individuals or teams in three categories:

  • Advancing the Mission recognizes extraordinary leadership resulting in the accomplishment of significant goals or work efforts that serve the good of UC and/or the Office of the President. The impact may be monetary, organizational or process-oriented as well as technological.
  • Commitment to OP Culture and Principles recognizes demonstrated commitment to upholding UCOP’s principles of community and inclusion, promotion of service and stewardship in the UCOP environment, and dedication to making positive change in morale and other areas.
  • Connecting with the Community recognizes individual volunteer effort or active service in a nonprofit community-based organization resulting in a meaningful impact on the local community or its residents.

Full details on how to submit nominations are available on the OP Innovation and Impact Awards website. There are separate forms for individual and team nominations, which are available along with complete guidelines. Each nomination should provide specific information about the individual or team, the impact they made and the reason they should be recognized.

A selection committee will deliver a list of recommended awardees for final approval to UC President Mark Yudof. The committee will include representatives from among last year’s award winners as well as OP Local Human Resources, which administers the program.

This year’s awards will be presented at the semi-annual Service Award Milestone ceremony on Feb. 26, 2013.
