UCOP offices closed June 18

Don’t forget that UCOP offices will be closed for a furlough day on Friday, June 18. Employees who have already used all their furlough time, and those employees who are exempt from the program, should make arrangements with their managers or supervisors to use vacation time, leave without pay, or comp time, during the closure.

Shout-Out to Ravinder Singh

Ravinder Singh was elected last week to be Chair-Elect of the Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA), which includes representatives from each UC campus, as well as the Lawrence Berkeley Lab and the Office of the President. This is a very exciting leadership opportunity, as CUCSA continues its work among staff systemwide to improve communication, morale and other key issues. Congratulations, Ravinder!!

New online resource: Managing Virtual Teams

This new online document will help you understand the role of the manager or leader in a virtual team and how to effectively manage these teams. To download this resource, log in to the UC Learning Center (http://www.ucop.edu/ucoplearningcenter/) with your UCOP username and password. Search for "managing virtual teams" and click the green Start button.

Sign up now for online W-2s

Get the convenience of receiving your calendar year 2010 W-2 online. Select "W2" from the At Your Service main menu and choose 'Select Delivery Method' from the W2 screen. Once you've signed up to receive your W-2s electronically, the election will remain in effect until you change it.

Fire drill on Thursday, June 10

Franklin Building staff will participate in a fire drill evacuation Thursday, June 10. Employees are asked to follow instructions from their floor wardens, who will be wearing an orange vest. Also, please note that elevators will not be accessible during the drill, so employees should familiarize themselves with the location of stairway exits.
