Ravinder Singh was elected last week to be Chair-Elect of the Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA), which includes representatives from each UC campus, as well as the Lawrence Berkeley Lab and the Office of the President. This is a very exciting leadership opportunity, as CUCSA continues its work among staff systemwide to improve communication, morale and other key issues. Congratulations, Ravinder!!

Franklin Building staff will participate in a fire drill evacuation Thursday, June 10. Employees are asked to follow instructions from their floor wardens, who will be wearing an orange vest. Also, please note that elevators will not be accessible during the drill, so employees should familiarize themselves with the location of stairway exits.
Congratulations to Paul Weiss, who was recently promoted to Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Office of the President. Weiss will continue to report to Associate Vice President and Systemwide CIO, Information Resources and Communications, David Ernst, and serve as his deputy for systemwide CIO responsibilities.
Read provost Pitts letter announcing Jesse Bernal as the new interim diversity coordinator. Bernal will spend a year as interim Diversity Coordinator, charged with managing the multiple diversity efforts underway, coordinating with the campuses, and staffing the new President’s Council on Campus Climate, Culture and Inclusion.
