Winter Holiday closure: Dec. 23, 2010-Jan. 2, 2011
The Office of the President will be officially closed beginning Thursday, December 23, 2010 through Sunday, January 2, 2011, except for essential services. Each vice president will determine whether there are essential services that must be maintained during this time period and plan for staffing accordingly. (Winter and New Year holidays are observed on December 24, 27, 30 and 31.) The Office of the President will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2011.
During this period there are three working days: December 23, 28 and 29. Employees will be given the option of using accrued vacation, compensatory time off (CTO), or leave without pay (LWOP) for these three working days. Employees represented by CUE who wish to work during the closure should arrange in advance with their supervisor to do so.
In the event an employee has not accumulated a sufficient amount of vacation time before December to cover the three days set forth above, arrangements will be made to allow those individuals to borrow against future vacation time to cover those days.
