Come to UCOP’s Brown Bag Lunch Tuesday, April 12, 1 to 2 p.m., where Nathan Brostrom, executive vice president for Business Operations, will address UCOP’s 2011–12 budget.

If you are unable to attend the event, which will take place in the Franklin Building’s Lobby 1 conference room, it will also be broadcast live via Ustream TV at http://www.ustream.tv/ucevents.

Brostrom will discuss OP’s plan to cut roughly $50 million from its annual operating costs through:

• targeted cuts to programs that duplicate work being done on campuses
• reductions in travel, equipment purchases, consulting services and technology upgrades
• returning oversight of some programs to the campuses in an effort to give UC chancellors as much budget flexibility as possible.

Note the unusual time: The event will take place 1 to 2 p.m. rather than the customary 12 p.m. for brown bags due to scheduling needs.
