UCPath announces new website, job postings today

The UCPath project today launches a new website that will offer all UC employees information about upcoming career opportunities at the UCPath Center in Riverside, as well as important announcements and progress updates on the project.

As previously announced, UCPath will deploy a single payroll system and a single human resources system across all 10 campuses and five medical centers of the UC system that meet the core needs of each location while capturing the efficiencies, improved data and cost-savings associated with unified systems.

UCOP is one of five UC locations — also including UCLA, UCLA Medical Center, UC Merced and UC Santa Cruz — that will begin transitioning to UCPath in 2013 as part of Wave 1 of the project. All other locations will transition in two subsequent waves, and by October 2014, all UC locations and employees will be using the services of UCPath.

UCPath is a large project that will affect every UC employee systemwide, and the website will serve as the primary vehicle to stay informed about this strategic initiative. The website features:

  • information about the UCPath Center, job descriptions and timelines
  • frequently asked questions
  • descriptions of UCPath project elements
  • content about the information technology and communications staff working throughout UC to implement the UCPath project

Central to the project is a systemwide shared service center, called the UCPath Center, which will open for business on July 1, 2013, to serve the Wave 1 locations. Located in Riverside near the UC Riverside campus, the center is expected to employ up to 500 people when it is fully operational and serve 190,000 UC faculty and staff systemwide.

“The UCPath project is gaining momentum, and I am pleased to be launching this new site,” said Tony Lo, UCPath initiative director. “Successful implementation of UCPath will depend on all employees becoming informed and engaged. This new website will play a significant role in our communication efforts.”

The UCPath website features links to 50 job descriptions for the UCPath Center that will be open for recruitment beginning Nov. 1, 2012. Employees from any UC location will have priority for the positions and may apply at any time; they do not need to wait until their location transitions to UCPath.
