Show some heart! Valentine’s Day sale this week
Get ready for the annual UCOP Pride–sponsored Valentine’s Day Supply Station, which raises funds for local East Bay charities.
The station will be open for business Thursday, Feb. 13, and Friday, Feb. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Franklin Lobby, making it simple for you to pick up gifts for your Valentine.
You can purchase locally sourced roses and flowers, sweets and cards, all at affordable prices (cash only, please) and in sustainable/reusable/recyclable packaging. Here’s what will be available:
- Mason jars of goodies (pre-made or build-your-own): $5 apiece
- Roses: $3 each or two for $5
- Goody jar plus one rose: $7
- Make your own bouquet: $8–10
All proceeds will benefit the Rainbow Community Center, the only organization in Contra Costa County that is solely focused on serving the LGBTI community by building services for youth, seniors, people living with HIV/AIDS and community outreach to promote greater acceptance of all LGBTI people.
Last year the group’s efforts and your generosity raised $411 for Lighthouse Community Center, a Hayward-based organization that provides a variety of services for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex community in Southern Alameda County and beyond.
Visit the Valentine’s Day Supply Station and share the love.
