Tuesday, March 18: How to reduce paper in the workspace
Whatever happened to the paperless office? Despite all our best intentions and efforts to get organized and go green, it seems like we’re still drowning in documents.
But help is on the way. Join UCOP Records Manager Laurie Sletten this Tuesday, March 18, for an information session on Digging Out: How to Reduce Paper in the Workspace.
The presentation will provide tips and tricks for how you can empty your filing cabinets and take back control over your papers. It supports the Less-Paper/Paper-Less Initiative resulting from the UCOP Efficiency Review.
Three sessions will be offered, all in Franklin Lobby 1 Conference Room:
- 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- 12 to 1 p.m.
- 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The 1:30 p.m. session is also available on ReadyTalk; call in to 1-866-740-1260 and enter access code 9879411. The online portion of the presentation is available at www.readytalk.com with the same access code, 9879411.
You will learn how to identify “non-records” that you can discard, how to handle reference files, eliminate personal papers and dispose of inactive records on a regular schedule.
Sletten works with the systemwide UC Records Management Committee to update the UC Records Retention Schedule and provides records management assistance to UCOP.
