10-second bio: Darryl Brown’s path from Six Flags New Jersey to UCPath
Name: Darryl R. Brown
Title: Facilities Specialist/Building Manager
Department/Unit: Building & Administrative Service Center/UCPath
Location: 14350 Meridian Parkway, Riverside, CA (aka UCPath Center)
When I started working at UCOP: October 2013
What I do for UCOP in five words or less: Marshall the UCPath Center building
Best part about working for OP: I came from UC Irvine, having spent almost 13 years there. Now I get to experience “headquarters” and further enrich the great experience I have come to know as the University of California.
Something you don’t know about me: Outside of my family, my greatest achievement has been graduating this past December with a bachelor’s degree in Project Management Administration.
One weird fact about the town I grew up in: I grew up in a small immigrant company town of 3,000 called Roebling, New Jersey. This burg’s claim to fame is that it was a steel mill town, and the steel company, John A. Roebling & Sons, was responsible for manufacturing the wire rope cabling on the Golden Gate Bridge.
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now) I would be: Working in an amusement park as a performer/dancer. In high school and my first two years of college, during the summers I worked at Six Flags Amusement Park in New Jersey; I was dressed as a ghoul in a haunted castle attraction and performed, dancing and scaring the guests.
Awesome bio Darryl. Congrats on earning your degree and I look forward to seeing you at an amusement park some day.
Thanks Doug!
Maybe in my retirement.
