Financial experts will discuss estate planning May 28

If you’re trying to decide who will care for you and who will manage your assets if you are unable to do it yourself, financial advisers David Hollander and Bonnie Landles-Dowling will visit UCOP on Wednesday, May 28 to talk estate planning.

The 90-minute presentation is 12-1:30 p.m. in Franklin Room 5320.

The two financial experts will discuss strategies for working through your estate planning documents. A properly drafted estate plan will allow you to choose how your assets will be managed if you’re not able to handle them yourself; when and under what circumstances your assets should be distributed during your lifetime; who should make healthcare decisions on your behalf if you’re not able to do so yourself; and how and to whom your assets will be distributed after you die.

A UC Berkeley graduate, Hollander is CEO and founder of Liberty Group, LLC, a diversified financial services company founded in 1999. For more than 12 years, Hollander has spoken on the subjects of increasing income, lowering taxes and preserving principal, and is host of Protect Your Assets, a weekly radio program broadcast Saturdays at 8 a.m. on KNBR 680 AM.

Landles-Dowling is an associate attorney with Hollander and Hollander, focusing her practice primarily in estate planning and elder law. She graduated cum laude, with a tax concentration, from UC Hastings College of the Law.

The event is sponsored by OP Staff Assembly and is one of a series of talks on planning for retirement.
