Monday, Nov. 24: Twitter Editorial Director Karen Wickre to speak
Whether or not you’re one of Twitter’s 284 million users worldwide, be sure to join Education Partnerships for the next talk in its speaker series, noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, in Franklin Lobby 1, when Karen Wickre, editorial director of Twitter, visits UCOP. Entitled “Education and the Twittersphere,” Wickre’s presentation will be an informal talk about Twitter in the education landscape. She brings an insider’s perspective on digital media and will discuss Twitter’s potential to change the way students, parents and educators think and communicate about education.
Wickre is a longtime writer, editor and content strategist in and for technology companies. She currently runs Twitter’s corporate marketing group and serves as its editorial director to guide the company’s voice across its site, blog network and official Twitter accounts. She previously held a similar role at Google for 9 years and serves on the boards of the International Center for Journalists and the Theatre Communications Group.
