OGC bake sale, raffle and auction raise over $5,000 for charity
A big thank you to the Office of General Counsel (OGC) committee and all OGC staff responsible for the success of the 30th Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Bake Sale, Raffle and Silent Auction. And thanks to everyone who supported the event with their purchases.
Surpassing last year’s results, a total of $5,165 was raised for charity. Proceeds will be donated to the following three local non-profits:
First Place for Youth: $2,292
Clausen House: $2,292
East Bay SPCA: $581
First Place for Youth: A Northern California–based organization founded in 1998, First Place for Youth provides affordable housing and other support to former foster youth and is a national model for programs supporting high-risk youth.
Clausen House: The charity provides housing, wellness programs and advocacy for developmentally disabled adults in Oakland and the surrounding East Bay area.
East Bay SPCA: This NPO is dedicated to the welfare of cats and dogs by preventing cruelty, neglect and overpopulation.
What a wonderful event and thanks to all the hardworking OGC volunteers who helped raise so much money for local charities!!
Congratulations at surpassing last year’s totals! I am always impressed with the OGC committee and all the ways they organize to raise money for the worthy, local charities that benefit from their efforts. Thanks, also, to all the donors of funds and goods for the auction and the raffle.
