Tax and pay reminders: W-2s, tax exemption and direct deposit options

Listed below are important reminders regarding W-2s, tax exemption and direct deposit choices. Please note that some of these may require action on your part.

2015 W-2s

You should have received two W-2s for 2015 (unless your first UCOP paycheck was in December). Printed forms were mailed at the end of January. Options for viewing and receiving W-2s are given below:

  • To view your electronic W-2 from the previous UCLA system, visit AYSO. To obtain a duplicate printed W-2 from UCLA, request a replacement on AYSO.
  • To view your electronic UCPath W-2, visit UCPath and click on “Income and Taxes” on the left hand side, then “View Online W-2/W2c” to download your copy.
  • If you signed up for electronic delivery of your W-2 but did not receive it, this may be due to an invalid email address. Visit UCPath and click on “Personal Information” on the left hand side, then “Personal Information Summary” to update your email and home address. After that, you may request a replacement by following instructions on the UCPath W-2 Reissue Request.
  • If you do not receive your printed UCPath W-2 in the first few weeks of February, you may request a replacement after Feb. 15, 2016 by following instructions on the UCPath W-2 Reissue Request.

Claiming exemption from withholding

The IRS requires you to complete a new W-4 form each year if you are claiming exemption from tax withholding. If you wish to claim exemption from withholding in 2016, you must make this choice on UCPath before Feb. 15, 2016.

Direct deposit options

Did you know that you can have your monthly pay split between as many as three different accounts? Signing up for direct deposit is a great way to ensure your pay is deposited predictably and on time into the account(s) of your choice.

To sign up for direct deposit, visit UCPath and on the left hand side of the screen, click on the “Income and Taxes” category and “Direct Deposit” to make your new selections.

Keep in mind that any changes to direct deposit information may take up to two pay periods to take effect. You will receive a paper payroll check until your direct deposit has been set up.
