Tuesday: Brown bag — Navigating Through Uncertainty
The OP Staff Assembly is hosting a brown bag on how to navigate through the uncertainty we face with organizational change.
UCSF psychologist Paula Trejo-Phillips, who supports OP staff as part of the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, will lead a talk entitled “Navigating Through Uncertainty: Cultivating a Successful Way Through Transitions.”
- Date: Tuesday, July 24
- Time: 12–1 p.m.
- Location: Franklin Lobby 1
The talk will focus on sharing ideas about perceptions, how we work through transitions and psychological and emotional aspects of change. It will include adaptive measures to minimize the symptoms of distress that transitions can bring about, and explore the role of resilience as a process for adapting in the face of adversity.
Before becoming a psychologist, Trejo-Phillips worked in Human Resources and benefits at UC and in the biotech and medical device fields. She completed her pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training at UCSF and worked at the UCSF Trauma Recovery Center. Her areas of specialty include the psychological sequelae of trauma and torture, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, multiculturalism, coping with chronic medical illness and end-of-life issues.
During this time of change, the OP Staff Assembly is providing resources to help OP staff manage organizational change. The Tuesday, July 24 brown bag is OPSA’s first step toward helping staff feel less isolated and discussing how to best deal with what’s happening.
