Creating Accessible PDFs
Monday, Feb. 25, 10 -11:30 a.m.

Learn how to create accessible PDFs that empower users with disabilities to easily access and engage with online resources. This course will cover the fundamentals of digital accessibility, including what IT accessibility is, why it’s important, what you can do to ensure all users can access and interpret your material and where you can go for help.

Discover how Excel can expand your productivity with techniques including data entry, functions, managing lists through tables, sorting and filtering, visualizing data and more.

Managing Change and Transitions*
Wednesday, March 6, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

We all know change is inevitable, so navigating change is an essential skill. This workshop focuses on the dynamics of change and your role in understanding, communicating and managing change and transitions. All UCOP employees will benefit from this class, which is based on William Bridges’ authoritative work on managing transitions.

Box Fundamentals
Tuesday, March 12, 12-1 p.m.

Get an overview of Box.com, the cloud-based service that provides secure file storage and file sharing. Learn Box basics, including how to use Box to collaborate with people within and outside of UCOP and tips for commenting directly on files, folder permissions, shared links and more. IT administrators will be on hand to answer questions. More information about Box is also available online.

Get to the Point! Effective Writing Skills*
Monday, March 18, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Unclear or hard-to-understand messages can leave readers wondering, “What’s the point?” This one-day workshop helps professionals get their point across quickly, clearly and concisely. Participants will learn tips to make communications more effective that can be put into practice immediately and improve clarity, response and action.

Excel 2016: Macros and VBA
Tuesday, March 19,  9 a.m.-4 p.m.

In this course for intermediate to advanced Excel users, learn how macros can make quick work of repetitive, complex tasks in Excel. The workshop will also include an introduction to virtual basic for applications (VBA) to further customize the macros you create.
