Celebrate Pride with UCSF, Cal and UCOP colleagues
On June 28, 1969, in New York City’s Greenwich Village, the Stonewall Riots sparked what is credited to be the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. The year after the uprising, New York City saw its first Gay Pride Parade — an event that has blossomed into Pride parades all over the world. Fifty years later, Stonewall remains a stark reminder of the remarkable sociocultural, political, medical and legal transformations that followed and continue to shape our community today. These same effects also reverberate throughout the UCSF and larger Bay Area community.
To celebrate this ongoing history of activism and resiliency, the UCSF LGBT Resource Center invites all community members and allies to attend a series of events planned throughout the month of June!
