The UCOP Shakespeare Club meets intermittently to do a cold reading of Shakespeare’s plays — aspiring to boil down all swashbuckling and soliloquizing to one hour.

Their next play is “Much Ado About Nothing,” on Wednesday, July 22, led by Terri Campbell. This play is the forerunner of the comedy of manners and of the celebrated “screwball comedies” of stage and screen (source: Marjorie Garber, Shakespeare After All).

No preparation is necessary; the script will be shared via Zoom. Just show up — virtually! We wouldn’t want a plague on both our houses.
