Federal Governmental Relations team named UCSA Ally of the Year
The UC Office of Federal Governmental Relations (UC FGR) team recently received the Ally of the Year Award from the University of California Student Association (UCSA).
Established 50 years ago, UCSA is a coalition of students and student governments that aims to provide a collective voice for all students through advocacy and direct action. Members participate in the shared governance of the UC system and work to advance higher education by empowering students to advocate on their own behalf for accessibility, affordability and quality at UC.
UCSA named UC FGR as the Ally of the Year during the 2021 Student Lobby Conference, held on March 21 via Zoom. Members stated:
“We truly would not have been able to get through the past year had it not been for the tireless advocacy, unwavering commitment and incredible support that you all provided to us, whether it was in protecting DACA, stopping baseless federal attacks against our international and immigrant students or navigating a global pandemic and an economic recession. The UC FGR team proved time and time again what it means to be a champion of students and the mission of accessible and affordable education for all. You all have been the best allies we could ever ask for, and it is with that in mind that our UCSA Board is proud to award the UCSA Ally of Year Award to the UC FGR team!”
Congratulations to the UC FGR team!
