UCOP Career Development Panel on Career Longevity
July 1, 2 – 3 p.m.
Join OPSA for an interactive career panel with long-tenured staff to hear their perspectives and stories. Learn how long-tenured staff have navigated their UC careers, balanced work and family, and how their experiences have shaped them to help inform other staff to successfully navigate and succeed in their own careers at UC.
Aspiring Leader Development Program (ALD) Information Sessions
July 14, 9 – 9:30 a.m. or July 27, 1 – 1:3o p.m.
Come learn about the Fall 2021 UCOP ALD experiential professional development program for UCOP staff who are interested in exploring leadership roles and career development, for those who are not current managers or supervisors. Read the program description. Applications are due Aug. 13. Attendance at an information session is not an application requirement.

Trust and Psychological Safety in the Workplace — New!
July 15, 1 – 3 p.m.
Research continues to demonstrate that trust and psychological safety are critical to creating an inclusive, high-performing work environment. Join Lisa Terry, UCOP systemwide director of leadership and organizational development, for an interactive workshop to discuss the concepts of trust and psychological safety, learn how to measure trust and psychological safety and develop action steps to help build increased levels of trust and psychological safety in your own work environment.
People Leader Forum: Developing yourself and your people

Smartsheet Fundamentals

This two-part class is designed for newer users who wish to gain a foundational understanding of the Smartsheet collaboration tool. Learn how Smartsheet can track projects and information to improve teamwork. Smartsheet licenses are available to all UCOP employees and should be requested through ServiceNow.

Creating Accessible PDFs
July 27, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
IT Accessibility is about empowering users with disabilities to easily access and engage with online resources. Many tax forms, annual reports and policy documents are PDFs. We will cover how to create accessible Word documents, which can be easily converted into accessible PDFs, and identify basic accessibility issues using Adobe’s accessibility checker.
