UCOP welcomes Barbara Cevallos as associate vice president and systemwide controller
The Office of the Chief Financial Officer is pleased to announce that Barbara Cevallos has accepted the position of associate vice president and systemwide controller, succeeding Peggy Arrivas, who retired on June 30. Barbara will begin her role in December 2021.
Barbara brings more than 20 years of finance experience in higher education. She comes to UCOP from the University of Massachusetts, Office of the President, where she has been the assistant vice president and university controller. She has also held leadership roles at KPMG International, Harvard Medical School and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an M.B.A. from Cornell University; she is also a Certified Public Accountant.
“Barbara’s extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting and auditing for large institutions, as well as her savvy with regulatory compliance and other areas unique to higher education institutions, will make her a strong asset for UCOP,” says Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Nathan Brostrom. “We look forward to welcoming her to the team in December.”

Prior to Barbara’s arrival, Ruth Satorre will serve as interim associate vice president and systemwide controller. In this role, Ruth will oversee the development of the 2020-21 Annual Financial Report and manage the Office of Financial Accounting operations.
