On Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 12-1 p.m. (PT), Professor Mehrsa Baradaran, J.D., will share her work on racial wealth gaps and generators of wealth in Black communities. Register now.

The webinar is part of the UC Council of Chief Diversity Officers’ Distinguished Scholars series. Each event features a notable UC faculty member who has made significant contributions to public policy and the study of racial inequality through their research, teaching and mentorship.

The webinar is open to all members of the UC community and will be recorded for future access. Professor Baradaran’s presentation will be followed by an audience Q&A session.

About Mehrsa Baradaran

Mehrsa Baradaran is a professor at UC Irvine Law. She writes about banking law, financial inclusion and racial inequality, and is the author of “How the Other Half Banks” and “The Color of Money.” Baradaran and her books have been featured in the New York Times, The Atlantic, Slate, American Banker, the Wall Street Journal and Financial Times; on NPR’s Marketplace, C-SPAN’s Washington Journal and PBS NewsHour; and as part of TEDxUGA. She has advised U.S. senators and congressmen on policy, testified before the U.S. Congress, and spoken at national and international forums like the U.S. Treasury and the World Bank.
