On February 14, President Michael V. Drake, M.D., sat down with KCRA 3 News in Sacramento to talk about his childhood and family, experiences navigating segregated society, career and vision for UC. The interview was produced as part of the station’s Black History Month campaign, which features notable Black Northern Californians. President Drake was honored for his role as UC’s first African-American president.
