We have many tech tools and resources at UCOP, and chances are that you use some software programs every day and others just occasionally. But whether you’re a novice or power user, there’s always room for improvement. Box to Zoom to Smartsheet and more, upcoming classes will provide the know-how you need to succeed at work.

Excel Introduction to Data Analysis
June 8 & June 15, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Microsoft Excel includes many tools that can help you analyze large amounts of data. By utilizing these tools, you can make informed decisions for a more strategic overall approach to your work. In this course, you’ll learn to use Excel data analysis tools, maximize the data included in your records and unlock the analysis power of Excel. Attendance at both sessions is required.

Box Introduction
June 22, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Box is the cloud-based service that provides secure file storage and file sharing at UCOP. In this introductory course, you’ll learn how to use Box, collaborate with people in and outside UCOP, comment directly on files, folder permissions, shared links and more. IT administrators will also answer your questions.

Smartsheet for Project Management
June 24, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This three-hour Smartsheet workshop is geared towards new and experienced project managers. Attendees will discover new ways to save time, increase collaboration and better manage projects. You will learn a variety of tips, tricks and shortcuts to streamline projects and manage them more effectively and efficiently.

Collaborative Tools for Virtual Meetings
June 29, 2 – 3 p.m.
Learn and try different tools and techniques to make virtual and hybrid meetings more engaging and collaborative. Come with an open mind and ready to learn new internet-based tools!

Storytelling with Data
June 30, 11 – 11:45 a.m.
When presenting data, we often prioritize its accuracy and analysis — and for good reason. But it’s almost as important to be able to share this information in a way that draws people into the insights presented and inspires decision-makers towards action. In this course, you’ll learn techniques to engage audiences through effective storytelling, meaningful presentations using various tech tools and meeting settings that make everyone feel welcome. Participants will be invited to share their own examples of successful data presentations.
