Some people infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 can have symptoms of the illness that lasts years. This syndrome is called long COVID, post-COVID conditions or postacute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC).
Dr. Martin Schlusselberg, an assistant clinical professor at the UC Riverside School of Medicine, is a pulmonary and critical care specialist. He recently answered commonly asked questions about long COVID, including how it is diagnosed and whether symptoms eventually go away.
