Whether you are starting your journey in understanding digital accessibility or want to keep up with the latest trends, join us for a GAAD webinar, “Your Path to Accessibility.”

Taking place Thursday, May 18, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. (PT), this fun event will feature 10-minute talks by UC staff who will share practical skills, explain the importance of digital accessibility and answer audience questions. You’ll learn about accessibility projects at work throughout UC, including the VR Lab at UCLA and Tactile Maps at UC Davis, as well as how you can practice accessibility best practices when using LibreTexts, Zoom, social media, Tableau, Siteimprove and more!

Discover your own path to accessibility and help create a better world for all.

Register in advance for the GAAD webinar

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. The webinar will be live-captioned, provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, and also be recorded.

Digital accessibility is important for everyone

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 16% of the world’s population, over 1.3 billion people, live with a disability. The impact of the UC community — estimated at over 2,535,409 alumni, staff, students and faculty — stretches around the world and has the potential to make knowledge and information accessible to all.

Helping to make digital environments more accessible isn’t only a priority for a few people in specialized fields. Everyone must work toward making our digital products more accessible as an important part of our equity and inclusion core values. Let’s celebrate this mission as one UC community. Say it with us: I believe in accessibility for all!

This event is sponsored by the UC Electronic Accessibility Committee. For questions, or to request an accommodation (by May 11), please contact Stephanie Nielsen.
