Answers to frequently asked questions
Who is eligible for a free consultation? Staff, faculty and student employees of any UC campus.
Who is offering this service? The workshop is organized by the UC Immigrant Legal Services Center, in partnership with other expert attorneys who have volunteered their time to help people with DACA identify potential options to obtain legal status.
What service will I receive? A confidential, expert screening to learn if you have any permanent or alternative immigration options. Our volunteer attorneys will screen for family, humanitarian and employment-based immigration relief. (Employment-based immigration options are not just for tech and international workers!)
What if I’ve received an immigration consultation in the past? Immigration options may open up for people at different stages in their life. It is rare to receive a consultation from attorneys who have expertise in family, humanitarian and employment visas. This type of service is not currently offered at any community-based or nonprofit organization and can cost hundreds of dollars with private attorneys. We are excited to be able to offer this unique service for free!
What time will consultations take place? Appointments are limited; availability and timing will be based on demand.
For questions, contact ucimm@law.ucdavis.edu or (530) 752-7996.
Note that only immigration consultations will be provided. We will provide referral lists to employees who have needs that cannot be served by our center.
