Learn to protect yourself with basic safety awareness

Learn how to feel informed, alert and safe as you travel to and from the workplace and in many other situations by taking Basic Safety Awareness, a live virtual course offered through UCOP Learning and Development.

Melissa Collins, program manager for security, risk and resilience, will share tools and techniques for keeping yourself safe as well as answers to all your personal safety-related questions. Melissa, a safety expert, recently joined UCOP after serving 20 years with the UC San Diego Police Department. She’ll teach you how to:

  • Be alert and aware in all situations
  • Be prepared to contact and assist police, if needed
  • Get the help you need in an emergency situation
