Marisa Hamamoto and Laura Hassner will provide the keynote addresses at UCOP’s first Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Conference: Changemakers.

On Dec. 5, 2023, the Office of Workplace Inclusion and Belonging is hosting its first-ever 2023 UCOP Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Conference: Changemakers.

The UCOP EDI Conference builds on the important work of changemakers within our organization — from the UCOP Anti-Racism Task Force to Employee Resource Groups to divisional EDI workgroups — by providing a space to come together as a community where we can deepen connections, participate in collective learning and advance EDI efforts throughout UCOP. Through inspirational speakers and breakout sessions, we will harness our collective power and potential, lived experiences and lessons learned through our EDI efforts to envision action and create sustained impact throughout our organization. Join us on this journey: Be a changemaker!

The goals are for conference attendees to:

  • Experience a renewed sense of community and connection that centers equity in all that we do
  • Develop a shared understanding of UCOP’s EDI vision, by exploring promising and scalable practices and gaining new skills to advance EDI efforts throughout UCOP
  • Be inspired to demonstrate steadfast leadership and shared accountability within the UCOP community to advance EDI and anti-racism efforts

Due to space constraints and technical limitations, in-person attendance is limited to invited guests (EDI Advisory Group members, ERG representatives and staff nominated by division leaders), but all UCOP staff are invited to virtually attend the two keynote addresses.
