UC Health clinical trial pilot pioneers an era of innovation and equity

Thanks to a new partnership between UC Biomedical Research Acceleration, Integration & Development (UC BRAID) and UC Health’s Center for Data-driven Insights and Innovation (CDI2), five teams will be able to use the UC Health Data Warehouse to identify and recruit patients for clinical trial participation for the first time.

This pilot study will allow UC Braid and CD12 to evaluate how much more easily researchers are able to attract Californians from different geographic locations, socio-economic statuses, and racial and ethnic backgrounds to participate in the clinical trials. The goal of the partnership is to help make it easier for researchers administering clinical trials to recruit a diverse patient pool so that the research outcomes can more effectively serve California’s diverse communities.
