The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Department is excited to announce and welcome UCOP’s newest staff affinity group, Allies for All Abilities — aka 3A.

3A was founded by Graduate, Undergraduate and Equity Affairs Policy Analyst Belinda Vea and California Digital Library Discovery and Delivery Director Sarah Houghton, with the support of the EDI Department.

The group’s goal is to enhance the well-being, awareness and visibility of people with disabilities at UCOP — including staff, faculty, students and visitors — through active participation and representation in the affairs at UCOP, UC and the community at large.

As an affinity group focusing on supporting UCOP staff with disabilities, 3A welcomes all members of the UCOP community, including those who identify as disabled or abled, allies of the disability community and those who are interested in supporting 3A’s mission and objectives.

Attend a kick-off meeting

All UCOP staff are encouraged to join 3A for its first staff meeting, which will take place via Zoom. During the meeting, we will discuss the goals for our affinity group and how best to meet them; establish a meeting schedule that is convenient for prospective members; and brainstorm future 3A activities, including developing a speaker series, collaborating with UCOP ERGs, and fundraising events.
