Let’s celebrate the outstanding response to UCOP’s inaugural Staff@Work survey
The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Department and UCOP Operations send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the inaugural UCOP Staff@Work engagement survey!
We achieved a phenomenal 77% response rate across UCOP, with many divisions reaching response rates in the high 80th- and low 90th percentiles. Hearing from so many of our colleagues is truly encouraging and highlights the strong commitment of our UCOP community.

Next steps
In late Fall, Tritonlytics will provide UCOP with the survey results. Here’s what you can expect:
- Privacy and confidentiality: Only Tritonlytics has access to the raw survey data. UCOP leadership and others will not see individual responses. Results will be reported in aggregate and only where anonymity can be maintained.
- Distribution of results: Division results will be distributed to division leaders, their chiefs of staff and Divisional EDI Workgroups
- Action plans and EDI goals: Divisions and departments will develop action plans to address staff feedback. The EDI Department will assist EDI Divisional Workgroups in developing their division and departmental EDI goals as part of the UCOP Strategic Framework.
- Communication: The Staff@Work survey core team will publish a summary of the results in Link and will provide ongoing updates on our progress toward implementing action plans and achieving EDI goals.
How we’ll use the survey results
As a reminder, the Staff@Work Survey measured six key dimensions of our workplace:
- Overall satisfaction with UCOP
- UCOP mission and goals
- Division and department environment
- Supervision
- Employee environment
- Equity, diversity and inclusion
With expanded demographic categories, we also hope to gain a better understanding of how our workplace affects diverse employee groups.
Along with the survey results, Tritonlytics will provide benchmarking data — specific to higher education workplaces — which we will measure our results against. This will allow us to understand our areas of strength and where we have room for improvement, along with what drives staff satisfaction and engagement at UCOP.
Thanks to your robust participation, we will have detailed results that will allow us to make meaningful improvements that resonate with staff throughout the organization. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback!
