For the past few years, UCOP has maintained stringent COVID-19 safety measures to protect our employees and visitors. As public health guidance continues to evolve, we are making changes to our protocols to align with updated Cal/OSHA regulations and the approach taken by other UC campuses.

Effective immediately, we are making the following changes:

Key changes to COVID-19 protocols

• End of daily testing for UCOP-sponsored events: Attendees of UCOP-sponsored events with 20 or more participants are no longer required to take daily COVID-19 tests.
• Elimination of UCOP/UCDC Screen surveys: Employees, contractors and visitors are no longer required to complete the UCOP/UCDC Screen survey before coming on-site.

Reporting still required

Employees, contractors and visitors must report any exposure or confirmed positive cases by following these COVID-19 case reporting instructions.

We recognize that some employees may still be cautious about COVID-19. We encourage everyone to be mindful of their colleagues’ comfort levels and to respect personal choices, such as wearing a mask or maintaining distance.

Face masks and test kits available in all UCOP facilities

Masks are still available on-site at all UCOP locations for those who wish to wear them.

COVID-19 test kits are also available to employees. To request a test kit, complete the UCOP COVID-19 Testing Program-Pick Up Request (Note: This form does not apply to UCDC employees). COVID-19 test kits are available at the following locations:

Test pick-up locations and hours

Oakland

• Location: Work Management Center (past the Franklin lobby near the Broadway-Franklin building interchange)
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Riverside

• Location: Security desk
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Sacramento

• Location/Hours: Contact Kelley Ogden for pick-up details and coordination.

Washington, D.C.

• Location: Main lobby security desk
• Hours: Monday – Friday | 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

General health and safety reminders

• Stay home if you feel sick or have symptoms of illness. Staying home protects your health and your colleagues’. Remember to inform your manager or supervisor if you need to miss work.
• Track workplace COVID-19 incidents. The COVID-19 Case Reporting Dashboard details COVID-19 cases within the last 15 days across all UCOP locations (excluding UCDC). The dashboard is updated immediately upon receiving a report of an employee who was on-site during an infectious period.
