Celebrate Earth Month with UC Travel webinars
The UC Systemwide Central Travel Office is hosting its second annual Earth Month celebration webinar series — Beyond the Destination: Travel Partners Driving Sustainability & Community Impact.
This year, our travel partners will share their advancements in driving sustainability and/or community impact. Created especially for the UC community, these insightful sessions will highlight challenges, efforts and achievements aimed at improving the health of our planet.
All sessions take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (PT) via Zoom. To register, select each vendor name below.
- April 8: Lufthansa: Last year, Lufthansa shared an exciting story about their sustainable business practices in Shillong, India, illustrating how staff teach entrepreneurship under the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development. Join us to learn another aspect of that story that led to grants for innovation.
- April 9: Enterprise/National Car Rental
- April 15: United Airlines
- April 16: Uber Powering Sustainable Nutrition on Campus: Uber will share their sustainability goals and commitments, as well as a roadmap for achieving them. They will present a case study on the Uber Eats program for graduate students and residents at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

- April 29: Southwest Airlines
- April 30: Hertz’s Ongoing Sustainability Efforts – Hertz representatives will share some of their challenges related to electric vehicle adoption as they continue an enterprise-wide climate risk assessment with a multi-decade climate transition plan. They will also present a case study on their connection with technical high schools across the country, where they continue to introduce students to and enable their knowledge of low-emissions vehicles.
