UCOP Safety: Basic Awareness
Wednesday, May 14, 2 – 3 p.m. (This week!)
Melissa Collins, program manager for security, risk and resilience, will share tools and techniques for keeping yourself safe and answers to all your personal safety-related questions. A safety expert, Melissa joined UCOP after serving 20 years with the UC San Diego Police Department. She’ll teach you how to:
- Be alert and aware in all situations
- Be prepared to contact and assist police, if needed
- Get the help you need in an emergency
UCOP Safety: Active Attacker
Wednesday, June 11, 2 – 3 p.m.
More and more Americans find themselves in active-shooter or mass-shooting situations. If this happens, knowing how to protect yourself in advance can make all the difference. Melissa Collins, program manager for security, risk, and resilience, will teach skills and strategies for responding if you’re exposed to an active-attacker situation. We’ll review real-life incidents and discuss the best safety options.
