Join the UCOP Tableau User Group in improving the UC Information Center

All UCOP staff are invited to join the next meeting of the UCOP Tableau User Group (UCOP TUG) on July 17 at 3:30 p.m. (PT). During this special session, we’ll focus on the UC Information Center (UCIC) — an online resource that has been instrumental in increasing access to UC data both within our organization and to the public.

Early this year, a workgroup was convened to provide recommendations to improve the UCIC for all persons so that it is intuitive to use, provides access to easily understood data and analysis, and facilitates interactivity to serve people’s specific needs. More specifically, the workgroup is exploring how people currently use the UCIC so that they can identify things that are working/most important, specific pain points, and unmet needs to inform platform design recommendations. The work group was also tasked to envision use of the UCIC for people who have not used it before.

This session will only be available live on zoom and will not be recorded.

Three members of the UCIC workgroup will share distinct initiatives this workgroup is undertaking to best achieve its goals:

  • Andrea Belgrade will share the process the group took to engage in stakeholder interviews as well as some preliminary findings from these interviews.
  • Kelsey Heider and Courtney Wilson will share a usability testing plan the team plans to implement later in the summer that will answer the following questions: Are people able to effectively navigate UCIC? Once on a dashboard, are people able to answer their questions using our data?
  • Chandana Muskam will share a dashboard she created exploring the number of site visits to each dashboard, analyzed at a tab level, to better understand how visitors use the information center and navigate within the dashboard
