This Tuesday and Wednesday: Explore the future of international education at UC
What should global engagement look like for a public university system rooted in California — and connected to the world?
That question will guide the next UC Systemwide Academic Congress: Shaping Global Futures — International Education in the California Context, a two-day virtual gathering that will bring together UC faculty, administrators, international partners and alumni from across the system.
Hosted by UC Academic Affairs, in partnership with the UC Education Abroad Program, the Congress will explore how UC can shape a forward-looking approach to international education at a time of geopolitical uncertainty, shifting federal policy and deepening global inequity.
Participants will consider how UC’s global work can reflect California’s distinctive values and responsibilities — from building equitable research partnerships to preparing students for an increasingly interconnected workforce. Sessions will also explore “glocal” learning, international student support and new ways to connect UC’s public mission with global collaboration.
All UC faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
