Pandemic preparedness and how UC supports health security
UC is no stranger to navigating pandemics, from COVID-19 to bird flu. Today, researchers at UC campuses and health centers, in partnership with state and federal agencies, are mitigating current public health emergencies and preparing for future threats to health security.
This collaboration includes UCSF’s Center for Pandemic Preparedness and Response; a National Science Foundation-funded Center for Pandemic Insights, led by UC Davis; a soon-to-be-published report on UC’s systemwide COVID-19 response; and more ground-breaking research initiatives.
