UCLA has launched the nation’s first independent digital humanities department — and will offer the first bachelor’s degree in the field. The new department brings together the humanities, technology and data science to explore how digital tools are changing society and how they can better serve people.

With strong student interest and more than 20 years of digital humanities research at UCLA, the department will prepare students to use technology thoughtfully and responsibly.
