Keep a watchful eye on your belongings

UC Office of the President employees should be aware that several minor thefts have been reported in the Franklin Building over the past few weeks.
Theft reports are relatively rare, said building manager Roman Starno, and his office investigates each one. Nevertheless, employees should be mindful that thefts do occasionally occur.
“We take these recent thefts very seriously and are looking into them,” Starno said. “But as a precaution, employees should never leave valuable items where they are easily accessible.”
Security personnel have begun making more frequent patrols of the 7th floor following reports of four thefts in the past month. All the thefts involved items that were on desktops or other highly visible areas, Starno said.
