Nobel laureate Randy Schekman, a UC Berkeley professor of molecular and cell biology, is calling for more support for undergraduate and graduate students at public universities.
Schekman won the 2013 Nobel Prize for his discovery about how yeast cells secrete proteins, which led directly to the success of the biotechnology industry.
