Link and other UCOP communications efforts win international awards
Link newsletter is one of three UCOP Communications efforts to win recognition from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in its international communications competition, the 2014 Circle of Excellence awards.
Link received a Gold Award in the category of internal audience periodicals (digital) from among 16 entries. The weekly online newsletter of the UCOP community, Link’s goal is to keep the UCOP community informed and connected. A redesign, launched last fall to improve both its content and navigation, was recognized with an award from Ragan Communications earlier this year.
Two other UCOP communications programs received CASE Silver Awards:
- UC Research Tumblr, from among 72 entries in the category of Best Uses of Social Media. The site is the official University of California tumblr site, a microblogging platform that houses multimedia content relating to research in science, technology, humanities and the arts from throughout the UC system.
- The universal language is in our minds, from among 76 entries in the category of General Information Videos (short videos). The video features UC Berkeley linguistics lecturer Patrick Boudreault, who is deaf. It was produced in 2013 as part of the Onward California series of videos.
Judges awarded 283 bronze, silver and gold awards, and 13 institutions received the top prize of a grand gold award, from among more than 3,000 entries in 100 categories submitted to the Circle of Excellence awards program. CASE is one of the largest international associations of educational institutions and a leading resource in the fields of alumni relations, communications, educational fundraising and marketing.
