Mark Day of the Dead with the Latino Staff Association Oct. 30
Join the Latino Staff Association (LaSA) to mark El Día de los Muertos this Friday, Oct. 30. LaSA will create a display/altar in the Franklin lobby where you can leave personal notes about a loved one. (The notes will remain private and will be discarded afterwards.)
The Day of the Dead is widely celebrated on Nov. 1 (all Saints Day) and November 2 (All Souls Day) in Mexico and some parts of Central and South America. It is a time of joyous celebration reminding all of us to enjoy life and to honor the lives of loved ones who have died.
During the lunch hour, from noon to 1 p.m., make a sugar skull, with the UCOP Crafts Group. They’re asking for a $5 donation to cover the cost of materials.
