In response to past survey results, OP local Human Resources (LHR) is piloting a new supervisor/manager orientation on March 9.
This program will provide critical information for making the transition to being a supervisor/manager, including a thorough review of the role and responsibilities.
Led by subject matter experts, the program will include case studies, role play and lecture. It will be kicked off by a special speaker from OP leadership who will share experiences, knowledge and insights about becoming a successful supervisor/manager at OP.
Topics covered will include: managing compensation at UCOP, how to effectively recruit and hire, performance management, introduction to budget and financial management, employee and labor relations basics, and more.
Local Human Resources encourages the attendance of those who have been newly hired or recently promoted into a position that requires managing a staff, program and/or function. Existing supervisors/managers are also welcome to attend.
