Stay informed about UC’s whistleblower hotline and policies
The University of California has a responsibility to conduct its affairs ethically and in compliance with the law.
In support of that responsibility, the university maintains a whistleblower hotline and other mechanisms for reporting improper activity. This allows any employee to “blow the whistle” on improper activities, such as violations of state or federal laws or activity involving gross misconduct, gross incompetence or gross inefficiency.
If you suspect that the university or a UC employee is engaged in improper activities, there are multiple channels for reporting such activity and policies that protect you from retaliation for making such a report.
UC’s whistleblower website provides important information for employees and supervisors about the whistleblower process, related policies and the multiple means of reporting improper activity in writing, online or by telephone.
To report improper activity, call the UC-wide whistleblower hotline (which is independently operated to help ensure confidentiality) at (800) 403-4744 or follow the links below for more details.
New posters from the university and the California State Auditor are being posted in all employee common areas this week. The posters explain how and where to report allegations of improper governmental activity.
