LAST CALL: Preorder your Thanksgiving pies by Wednesday

The Office of the General Counsel (OGC)’s annual charity Thanksgiving Bake Sale and Silent Auction event is back for its 32nd year. Be sure to preorder your baked goods by this Wednesday, and read on for news of exciting additions to the silent auction.
Baked goods preorders
You can preorder delectable pumpkin, fruit, and cheesecake pies as well as various types of dinner rolls by stopping by the OGC sales table which will be open:
Dates: Through Wednesday, Nov. 15
Time: 12 to 1 p.m.
Location: Franklin lobby
Pick-up for the pre-ordered items will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Franklin 8th floor, alongside the bake sale and silent auction. Stop by that day to purchase some additional tasty treats for your holiday table and support worthy local charities at the same time. Please note that cash is the preferred method of payment.
Silent auction update
Exciting news! The silent auction this year will include a chance to bid on lunch dates with various UCOP leaders: President Napolitano, or Associate Vice President and Chief Risk Officer Cheryl Lloyd, or Senior Counsel Steve Drown and Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel Kelly Drumm.
Other items up for auction include a $50 gift card from Shiba Ramen, a Marshawn Lynch favorite Hype Beast T-shirt, and much more.
The silent auction takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Franklin 8th floor, alongside the bake sale. Stop by that day to purchase tasty treats and bid on auction items.
How your contributions help our local community
Proceeds from this year’s events will be divided between two local charities:
- Alameda County Community Food Bank: The food bank provides access to healthy food to members of our community, while partnering with local, state, and federal organizations to advocate for those in need.
- First Place for Youth: A Northern California organization founded in 1998, First Place for Youth provides affordable housing and other support to former foster youth and is a national model for programs supporting high-risk youth.
