Verifying your employment on UCPath
If you are applying for a loan, an apartment or job, your employment verifier (such as your bank, leasing agent, or employer) will need to access your employment information through The Work Number website. If you need information for your personal records, you have a new option – downloading a personal employment summary report through your UCPath account.
The Work Number
The Work Number is a third-party provider of employment and income verification. Inform your verifier that UC uses The Work Number and provide them the University of California Employer Code (15975) and your Social Security Number.
In some instances, you may also need to create a “Salary Key” to complete an income verification. If your employment verifier requests a salary key, please follow these steps:
- Log in to The Work Number as an employee.
- Enter the following information:
- UC Employer Code: 15975
- User ID: Your Social Security Number
- Personal PIN: Your birthday (MMDDYYYY).
- Select the “Create a Salary Key” option.
- Provide your verifier the six-digit salary key.
Employment verification summary for employees
If you simply need your employment information for your records, you may download a summary through your UCPath account. After you’ve signed in, use the menu at the left to navigate to Employee Actions > Income and Taxes > Verification of Employment. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Generate Summary Report button
Your summary will be published on UC letterhead, which will include your current employment information and payroll earnings.
